ADRIANNA MARSHALL, PH.D
Founder, Music Instructor
Dr. Adrianna Marshall is a violist, originally from Kansas City, Missouri. She received a
bachelor’s degree in Music from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2003. In 2009, she earned a
master’s degree in Music Education at the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University,
and she completed her Ph.D. in Music Education at the University of Florida in 2013. She has
been teaching instrumental music for 17 years.
Upon completion, Dr. Marshall was an assistant professor at Western Illinois University in music
education (2012-2016). At WIU, she taught courses in strings, assessment, and music history.
Dr. Marshall guided undergraduates through the teacher certification process. In 2015, she
debuted her first online fine-arts general education course for distance learners which included
music listening and composition.
Prior to teaching at the collegiate level, she taught strings in public schools in Gainesville, FL,
New Orleans, LA, Baltimore, MD, and Kansas City, MO. In 2016, Dr. Marshall relocated to
Kansas City and started Marshall Educational Consulting. Her company focuses on creating,
maintaining, and expanding fine arts education. She has been writing curricula for online K-12
schools, consulting for educational testing services, and being involved in other local fine arts
organizations. Dr. Marshall is also a nationally recognized clinician. She has presented her
research from California to New Jersey! She has presented sessions on creating urban orchestra
programs, culturally responsive teaching, and strategies to increase minority student participation
in music. Currently, Dr. Marshall is the Department Chair for Middle School Electives and
Director of Instrumental Music in the Kansas City Public Schools.

FAITH ANDREWS-O'NEAL
Dance Instructor, Co-Director
Faith Andrews-O'Neal is a senior at St. Teresa's Academy and has been a dancer for over 15 years. She is trained in contemporary, modern (primarily in the style of Horton), ballet, jazz, tap, and lyrical. As a student at Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey, she has danced for Misty Copeland, Debbie Allen, Mayor Sly James, Robert Battle and Judith Jameson, the current and former creative directors of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, respectively. She is the recipient of the Vincent Legacy Scholarship through Starlight Theatre for students to further their arts education. This will be her second year teaching and choreographing for Marshall Music Camp.
